Symptom: The new contacts in Outlook are sorted by First Name Last Name and you want them sorted by Last Name, First Name.

Cause: Sorting of contacts in Outlook is determined by Outlook and by user preferences. Sorting is not determined by Epicenter, ePreserver or Address Magic.

Solution (Outlook 2003): Sorting in the Outlook Address book is configured from the Control Panel. Open the Windows Control Panel, double click Mail, click the E-mail Accounts button, click "View or change existing directories or address books", click Next, select "Outlook Address Book", click Change, choose the desired sort order under "Show names by", click Close and then click Finish.
Solution (Outlook 97 to 2002): Sorting in the Outlook Address book can be controlled by opening the address book, opening the View menu, selecting Sort By, and choosing Last Name.

Sorting in the contacts folder is much more complex and changes depending which version of Outlook you are running.
