Converting to Windows Live Mail in Windows 7
Solution

(Applies to Address Magic Personal and ePreserver)

Problem: Windows 7 only supports Windows Live Mail, but neither ePreserver nor Address Magic Personal support Windows Live Mail. Note that Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail share nothing in common except their name.

Solution: The solution is as follows:

  1. In ePreserver/Address Magic, choose Windows Mail as your destination. Windows 7 does not support Windows Mail, but this still works.
  2. When ePreserver/Address Magic finishes, open Windows Live Mail.
  3. Press the "Alt" key on the keyboard to open the menu in Windows Live Mail.
  4. Select File / Import / Messages...
  5. Choose Windows Mail as the source.
  6. Finish the wizard.
  7. Open your contacts by clicking Contacts in the bottom left of the Windows Live Mail window.
  8. Press the "Alt" key on the keyboard to open the menu in Windows Live Mail.
  9. Select File / Import / Address book for current Windows user...
  10. Your contacts should be automatically imported.
