ePreserver always puts contacts in Outlook in the default Contacts folder. If you would like to put the AOL contacts in a separate folder, please follow the steps below: (the instructions look long, but you are just doing the same thing three times in a row.) - Create a new folder in Outlook. Call it something like "temp". Make sure it's a "Contacts" folder and not a mail folder.
- Create a second new folder in Outlook called "AOL Contacts" (or whatever you want.) This is where your AOL contacts will end up.
- Go to your default Contacts folder, left-click on any contact, then go to the Edit menu and choose Select All.
- Go to the Edit menu again and choose Cut.
- Go to the "temp" folder you just created.
- Go to the Edit menu and select Paste.
- Your default contacts folder is now empty, which is what you want.
- Run ePreserver. When it's finished, the AOL contacts will be in your default Contacts folder.
- Go to your default Contacts folder, left-click on any contact, then go to the Edit menu and choose Select All.
- Go to the Edit menu again and choose Cut.
- Go to the "AOL Contacts" folder you created.
- Go to the Edit menu and select Paste.
- Go to the "temp" contacts folder with your old contacts. Left-click on any contact, then go to the Edit menu and choose Select All.
- Go to the Edit menu again and choose Cut.
- Go to your default contacts folder.
- Go to the Edit menu and select Paste.
- Delete the "temp" contacts folder, which should now be empty.
