How to put Contacts in Outlook in their own folder.

ePreserver always puts contacts in Outlook in the default Contacts folder. If you would like to put the AOL contacts in a separate folder, please follow the steps below: (the instructions look long, but you are just doing the same thing three times in a row.)

  1. Create a new folder in Outlook. Call it something like "temp". Make sure it's a "Contacts" folder and not a mail folder.
  2. Create a second new folder in Outlook called "AOL Contacts" (or whatever you want.) This is where your AOL contacts will end up.
  3. Go to your default Contacts folder, left-click on any contact, then go to the Edit menu and choose Select All.
  4. Go to the Edit menu again and choose Cut.
  5. Go to the "temp" folder you just created.
  6. Go to the Edit menu and select Paste.
  7. Your default contacts folder is now empty, which is what you want.
  8. Run ePreserver. When it's finished, the AOL contacts will be in your default Contacts folder.
  9. Go to your default Contacts folder, left-click on any contact, then go to the Edit menu and choose Select All.
  10. Go to the Edit menu again and choose Cut.
  11. Go to the "AOL Contacts" folder you created.
  12. Go to the Edit menu and select Paste.
  13. Go to the "temp" contacts folder with your old contacts. Left-click on any contact, then go to the Edit menu and choose Select All.
  14. Go to the Edit menu again and choose Cut.
  15. Go to your default contacts folder.
  16. Go to the Edit menu and select Paste.
  17. Delete the "temp" contacts folder, which should now be empty.
