Messages in Sent Items in Gmail show “To: me”

Problem: After converting messages to Gmail with ePreserver or Address Magic, you look in the Sent Mail folder and everything shows as "To: me".

Cause: Gmail does not recognize the "From" address of your old email messages.


  1. Go to Gmail
  2. Click on Settings in the top right.
  3. Click on Accounts.
  4. Under "Send mail as", click "Add another email address"
  5. Add your old email address. For example, if your old email address was, then enter
  6. You MUST still be able to receive email at the old address for this to work.
