Is 64-bit Outlook supported?

(Applies to: Address Magic and ePreserver)

To determine if you are running the 64-bit version of Outlook 2010/2013, do this:

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Click the File tab in the top left
  3. Click Help
  4. Look to the right, under "About Microsoft Outlook". It says something like "Version 14.0.6129.5000 (32-bit)"  If it says 32-bit, you are okay. If it says 64-bit, then this article applies.

Address Magic Enterprise: Build 424 and later include a version of the software that supports 64-bit Outlook.

Address Magic Personal: Build 424 and later will automatically offer to download a version of the software that supports 64-bit Outlook. You can download the latest version of Address Magic Personal from:
http://www.connectedsw.com/Downloads/MagicSetup.exe

ePreserver: Does not support 64-bit.

A workaround for ePreserver is to convert to Outlook Express/Windows Mail, then use the import command built into Outlook to import the data from Outlook Express. (Windows Mail is the new name for Outlook Express. Windows Live Mail is completely different and will not work for this.) This works on Windows 7 and Windows 8, even though Windows Mail is no longer supported. This does not work with Outlook 2013 Click-to-Run, which cannot import Outlook Express or Windows Mail.
