How do I convert my AOL address book to the iPhone/iPad?

(Applies to: ePreserver)

Problem: There is no choice in ePreserver to convert to the iPhone or iPad.

Solution:

#1. If you have an iCloud ".me" account, then ePreserver can convert directly to iCloud. Run ePreserver and select iCloud as your destination. Uncheck everything except "address book" in ePreserver.

#2. If you have a Gmail account, then ePreserver can convert directly to Gmail. Run ePreserver and select Gmail as your destination. Uncheck everything except "address book" in ePreserver.

#3. If you have a Microsoft Exchange account using a service like Office 365, then your address book will be wirelessly synchronized with your iPhone, you do not need to use iTunes. Run ePreserver and select Outlook as your destination. Uncheck everything except "address book" in ePreserver.

#4. The iPhone and iPad synchronize with your email application, so use ePreserver to convert to Outlook, Outlook Express, or Windows Mail, then synchronize Outlook to your iPhone using iTunes.

Note that your converted email will *not* synchronize with your iPhone because only new email synchronizes with the iPhone and imported messages are not considered "new."

For additional information on using iTunes, see Apple's knowledgebase:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1418

Note that Connected Software does not advertise that ePreserver can convert to the iPhone or iPad, so we do not provide free technical support on using iTunes. However, we will be happy to help you with the first step, converting AOL to Outlook, Outlook Express, or Windows Mail.
