Why do I have so many duplicates in my address book in Outlook?
Posted by Swift Admin on 21 August 2004 10:57 PM

Symptom: After importing a new address book into an Outlook contacts folder, contacts appear multiple times in the Outlook address book, one entry for each of a contact's email addresses.

Cause: You should be able to go to your Outlook Contacts folder (as opposed to the address book) and verify that each contact is only there once. Outlook's behavior is to show all email addresses in the address book.

Solution: Because this is the way Outlook is designed, there is no workaround.
