Question: I want to convert multiple AOL screen names but I want to keep the emails and address books for each screen name separate, just like they were in AOL.
Solution #1 (Windows XP and Windows Vista Only): Each user should log in to Windows XP under his or her own login, then run ePreserver to convert a screen name. With this technique, all email, favorites, and contacts will be kept completely separate.
Solution #2 (Outlook Express Only): If you don't have Windows XP or you don't want to use separate logins, Outlook Express users can use "Identities" as follows: , go the the File menu, click on Identities and select "Add New Identity..."
  1. Open Outlook Express.
  2. Click on Identities.
  3. Select "Add New Identity..."
  4. Enter your name and click OK.
  5. Click Yes when asked if you want to switch now.
  6. Enter the information for your email address and server (or click Cancel to do it later.)
  7. Your new identity will open in Outlook Express.
  8. Run ePreserver and your AOL information will be converted to the new identiy.

To switch back to your original identity:

  1. Again in Outlook Express, go the the File menu and click on "Switch Identity..."
  2. Select the desired identity and click OK.

Favorites from each AOL screen name will be stored in Internet Explorer under the name of the original screen name.
