Can't open Exchange mailbox with -o User=xxx

Symptom: You are converting an address book or messages to Exchange Server using the -o "User=xxx" option. You receive one of the following errors:
 
The user name resolved to username@domainname, but there is no Exchange mailbox associated with that address.
 
    or
 
Conversion error, location 52
"MAPI_E_CALL_FAILED" (Error code 0x80004005)
 
Cause: You are running Microsoft Outlook in Cached mode.
 
Solution: Disable Cached Exchange Mode as follows:
  1. Open Control Panel and open Mail.
  2. Click Show Profiles.
  3. Select the profile for Exchange.
  4. Click Properties.
  5. Click Email Accounts.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Click Change.
  8. Click More Settings.
  9. Click the Advanced tab.
  10. Uncheck the box labeled "Use Cached Exchange Mode."
  11. Click OK.
  12. Click Next.
  13. Click Finish.
  14. Click Close.
